STARTUP EUROPE LATAM ASSEMBLY

The goal of Startup Europe LATAM Assembly is to build effective bridges of collaboration between both sides of the pond, developing mutual symbiosis and boosting synergies through interaction amongst key players in both ecosystems, Startups, Scaleups, Investors, Corporates, Accelerators, Incubators, Universities and Research Centres, Public Administrations, Media Outlets, Heads of State and Government and Ambassadors.

 

KEY OBJECTIVES

 

 

Develop effective bridges for collaboration among regional ecosystems

Promote learning and transfer of best practices from one region to another, in order to support development and growth, and reinforce the bonds between Europe and LATAM

Facilitate the exchange between startups and scaleups from both regions

Foster entrepreneurial friendly socio-political environments for startups

Raise interest and visibility for the startup ecosystems across regions and facilitate access for startups to European or LATAM markets and investors

Close the gap between startups and public administrations, opening up new public procurement opportunities for entrepreneurs.

 

FOUNDING MEMBERS

International Digital Development Exposition 2017, 2nd Edition — “Technologies for improving our quality of life”.

After the successful first edition of the International Digital Development Exposition in 2016 (#EIDD16), the Chilean government and local technology companies have strengthened an alliance that will bring about the second version of this event, which will take place on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th of October 2017, at the Centro Cultural Estación Mapocho in Santiago.

Our goal is to double last year’s 4000 visitors and explore the main solutions proposed by more than 30 government agencies for better quality public services, along with more than 100 national and international exhibitors that have developed new public service technologies designed to improve the quality of people’s lives.

Emprende

Emprende is a TV show broadcasted twice a week in TVE’s Canal 24 Horas about entrepreneurship support and promotion.

It encourages digital transformation and the development of Information Society with the objective of setting up companies of all kinds that could cooperate among themselves to decrease unemployment, which is very present in many social sectors.

It is also a commitment of collaboration between the European and Latin American models considering that Spain is a natural meeting point between both continents.

Emprende provides innovative solutions and promotes personal and professional values which are essential to everyone who wants to start new business projects with success.

In addition to its television broadcasting, the TV Show has edited two books “Píldoras para emprender” (Pills for starting up) and “Emprender en la era digital” (Starting up in the digital era) to help entrepreneurs in every step of the way: from the moment the idea is born and their business starts until it goes international.

Finnova Foundation

Finnova Foundation works within the fields of new technologies, sustainable development, environment, energy efficiency and renewable energy, smart cities, water, waste, tourism and social inclusion through different European, national and local projects based on innovation. Finnova manages these two initiatives: StartUp Europe Accelerator, the unique accelerator program focused in European funding and StartUp Europe Awards, promoted by European Commission, aimed to highlight local best practices and create an Alliance of organisations supporting entrepreneurship, innovation and talent.

84 startups from 14 countries are the finalists of this initiative which first edition awards the best European startups in 10 categories (Creative, Energy, Fintech, Green, Health, ICT, Smart Cities, Social, Tourism and Water). Under this frame, LATAM StartUp Europe Awards will be launched in the next months.

IESE Business Angel Network

IESE Business Angel Network is a support service to entrepreneurs and investors aimed at facilitating access to start and scale finance, being one if the most active where it operates. Active since 2003 its portfolio has reached more than 160 startups, and real success stories such as Privalia, Buyvip, Habitissimo or Olapic. IESE BAN contributes to IESE Business School”s commitment to entrepreneurship ecosystem development, startup growth and professionalisation of the angel activity.

IESE BAN is open to alumni and non alumni entrepreneurs and investors, and these take individual investment decisions, as IESE does not take investment decisions.

IESE Business Schools collaborates with a large number of associated business schools, mostly in Latin America. IESE BAN actively works with public and private institutions in region to foster the development of entrepreneurship activities.

The European Foundation for Innovation and Technological Development (INTEC)

We are a Not-for-profit European foundation, comprising 35 private companies and public entities in technology, agri-food, catering and financial sectors.

We have set up an open innovation ecosystem called “SmartAgrifood”. SmartAgrifood contains a demonstration center; for the development and transfer of proof of concept products, a startup accelerator; for the agrifood sector, and an investment fund which in turn feeds 4 funds specialising in startups.

INTEC’s (our) key objectives:

To promote innovation and the uptake of technology in all sectors of INTEC’s activity (primeraly those related to the agrifood value chain and to tourism). To work with companies to develop training of personnel, facilitating the adoption of new technology. Seedstars

Startup Olé Accelerator (SOA)

Startup Olé Accelerator (SOA) has become a landmark in the European entrepreneurial ecosystem thanks to its broad experience in organizing major international tech events such as Startup Olé and by coordinating and actively participating in successful EU-funded projects (Welcome SEP).

SOA also leads three Startup Europe Initiatives: Accelerator Assembly, SE Nations High Level Group and SE University Network, connecting accelerators, developing a network of national and EU-level policy-makers and boosting talent and knowledge transfer between universities and innovation centres.
